About Patrick Green

If posed the question, "Who is Patrick Green?" Patrick Green would likely respond that he is simply a grateful son, a loyal brother, a supportive friend and companion, a proud father and a spirited free thinker.

But one read on this 29-year-old Petticoat Junction, South Carolina native tells you that he is so much more.

First of all, Patrick Green is a scholar. He graduated from the College of Charleston in 1998 with a B.A. in Communications with a concentration in journalism. In addition, in 2004 Green earned a Masters degree in Education with a concentration in English at Troy State University.

He is an educator as well. An English Instructor at Aiken Technical College, Patrick Green devotes tireless energy to the enlightenment and enrichment of literature and composition in today's collegiate society, preserving while propelling the invaluable worth of critical thinking.

Furthermore, he is a journalist. Green gained more than five years of experience as a sports writer for The Augusta Chronicle in Georgia and the Post & Courier in Charleston, South Carolina. During that period, the 6-foot-5 former student-athlete also appeared on several television and radio broadcasts with journalistic commentary.

And respectfully, he is a leader. During his tenure with The Augusta Chronicle, he served as Vice President of the community active Augusta Black Journalists, an affiliate of the National Association of Black Journalists. Green also utilized that time to mentor hundreds of high school student-athletes and push local media powers for internships for minority collegiate journalism majors. He also participated in a number of celebrity charity events to support local schools and military.

Additonally, just as he points out himself, Patrick Green is a free thinker - but with a bevy of valuable talent and drive to match. After he meticulously derived a mesmerizing plot, created realistic, relatable, unpredictable characters, scribed 288 pages of uncensored, intense material - all with a thought-provoking message, he then went against convention, independently publishing, promoting and pioneering a regional success in Josie's Missing Syllabus.

While savoring all that he is, with the impending release of Son Down, and with a creative mind that rarely rests, we can only hold our breaths on what Patrick Green will become.
